For a man to be qualified to become a person after God's heart, he must scale many hurdles, even as that person should be truly, wholly and uncontrovertedly be endeared to God.
Anglican bishop of Amichi diocese, His Lordship, the Rt Rev Ephraim Okechukwu Ikeakor stated this at the last lap of the monthly prayer breakfast of his diocese; codenamed prayer breakfast of thanksgiving that took place December 1, 2017 at the Cathedral Church of St Andrew Amichi in Nnewi South Local Government Area Anambra State.
He adduced a number of criteria which the person must meet before his qualification to become a man after God's heart. He said that one of such included among others, the man must be a man God truly depends on and trusts. He said that the man should also be known for his unquestionable sacrificial gifts which evoke God's mercy, adding that he is a man God reveals his mind to at any time.
According to the visionary bishop, King David, a highly reputed psalmist and celebrated praise-singer of God, stood out as the man who was after God's heart throughout the Christendom in his time. The bishop who spoke on the topic In man after God's heart, took the text of his soul-searching, captivating and challenging sermon during the prayer breakfast of thanks giving from the Acts 13:20-23. He said that King David's most outstanding performances and excellent showings commanded God's mercy on him.
The Rt Rev Ephraim Ikeakor went further to refer the congregation to 2 Samuel 24:18-24. He who must be after God's heart, must have a genuinely repentant heart. He must also be a habitual and wholehearted singer of God's praises.
