COUNCIL OF KNIGHTS

Welcome back to the second edition of this column. This page is dedicated to publicizing activities of the council. Thanks to the benevolence of Sir Dr. Jef Okeke who has undertaken to foot the bill. The first part of the highlight on the Council was done in the June edition of this publication.

Vital information from the last colloquium is hereby presented for the benefit of all especially those members of the Council who did not have the opportunity to attend.

The colloquium as usual started with a communion service celebrated by the Chaplain Rev'd. Canon Chukwuebuka Chukwuemeka. The sermon titled “Be careful for nothing”, was preached by Rev'd. Christian Akosa ,Chaplain of the Holy Child Convent. He took the text of his sermon from Matt. 6:24-end. He charged the people to separate “needs” from “wants”. According to Rev'd. Akosa, God will always provide all our needs. He said that the cravings (wants) of this world are the reasons for the high blood pressure and all kinds of problems prevalent in our world today.

He cited Phil. 4:6 where the Bible admonished us to be careful for nothing but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, we should present our request to God. He admonished Knights to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and every other thing will be added unto them.
