1. THE CHURCH

At the end of this Four Day Synod, this communiqué was issued as follows:

In line with the theme of the Synod “You are the Light of the world” Matt. 5:14

The Synod views the theme seriously as a challenge that every Christian cannot

afford to fail in this dark generation to illuminate, drive away darkness, reveal all hidden and secret things, warmth in a cold atmosphere in the society, reveal dangers, guide both

people and animals, gives joy, generosity to all and drives away fear. The Synod

therefore, observes that all the church leaders, preachers, Christians and

believers must GUIDE, show the LIGHT, INSTRUCT and TEACH where they are, be it

in politics, public or private service, institutions of learning etc. They must

always be seen radiating the true light from the Master, Jesus Christ.

2.  ANAMBRASTATE

The Synod urges the Governor to conduct a free and credible Local Government

election since a credible Voters Register is now available. The Synod urges Anambra State Government to provide its citizens with adequate security of life and property, provide more job opportunities for the army of unemployed youths. The Synod urges the State Government to provide adequate funds for the renovation of dilapidated school buildings recently handed over to their original proprietors as a matter of urgency. The Synod urges the State Government as a matter of urgency to resolve the industrial dispute between it and judiciary and health workers in the State.

3. THE NATION

The Synod condemns in the strongest terms the post election violence in some parts of Northern Nigeria that led to the murdering of innocent citizens in cold blood, burning down of churches and killing some Pastors. The Synod therefore, urges the President, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan [GCFR] to bring the perpetrators and the sponsors to book and let them face the full wrath of law.The Synod commiserates with the Nation and the families of these fallen heroes especially members of NYSC who died while serving our fatherland.

The Synod urges the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to fulfill his electioneering campaign promises and take adequate steps to see them really fulfilled as Nigerians are watching.

The Synod urges the Federal Government to create more employment opportunities for the teaming population in the country.

The Synod urges the Federal Government to improve the power sector and beef up

security in the country. The Synod urges the Federal Government to look into the depreciating value of Naira and find a lasting solution to it.

The Synod frowns at the Jumbo Salaries and Emoluments allotted to themselves by

the members of the National Assembly. They should see themselves as servants of

the people and not masters.

4. EDUCATION SECTOR
