Tue Sep 18 2018 - VEN. CHUKWUEBUKA CHUKWUEMEKA

Official foundation stone laying ceremony of the Diocesan Secretariat, Women Bethany House, and Business Complex has been performed by the Anglican Bishop of Amichi diocese, His Lordship, the Rt. Rev E.O Ikeakor. The very impressive ceremony which took place recently was graced by the people of note in the diocese, including the President of Women organizations in the diocese and Bishop’s wife, Dame Nkem Ikeakor, (Mama Amichi), the Chairman of the tenth year Anniversary/inauguration and Episcopacy of the diocese, Prof.Sir. Ugochukwu Nzewi, Sir Emma Okafor, Sir C.I.C Nwosu, Diocesan legal Secretary, Barr. Sam Anozie, Diocesan Clergy and their wives to name but these. In his brief homily, while charging Christians to endeavor to discover areas God wants them to serve Him and humanity, Bishop Ikeakor disclosed that everyone, irrespective of status has a specific assignment given to him or her by God to do. He preached that there are two sets of people, one of which he explained is working for Christ while the other is working against Christ. But he said that judgment day is at hand when God will judge everyone according to the work done by them. He ceased the opportunity to sincerely express immense gratitude to those who have chosen to work for Christ and advised those who are yet to decide what to do for Christ, even as he called on them to pray to God to tell them what they would do for Him. He said that Christ had since laid the foundation and no other foundation should be laid, quoting 1st Corinthians 3: 9-23. He said that what he did was to lay the foundation of the three buildings upon the one laid by Jesus Christ. He queried, what have been your contributions to God’s work, commending those who have been contributing substantially towards the progress of work in the diocese. He, however, told them that their labour in God’s vineyard is not in vain.
